These fluorescent tubes are also known as CCFL tubes.When these CCFL tubes reach the end of their service life, the usual effect is that nothing can be read on the LCD display of the Korg Oasys. The first impression is usually that the display is defective.How can I check whether the display is completely defective or whether only the backlight has failed?If only the backlight has failed, it is usually possible to see the text if you look very closely, usually from a very steep angle. Users usually know what is normally displayed on the screen. It is also possible to shine a flashlight on the display. Then the text is usually still quite easy to see. We offer a replacement kit for the backlighting in the Korg Oasys LCD.With this kit, you can replace the CCFL tubes with modern LED strips. The original LCD display in the TG33 was screwed from the back onto retaining lugs provided in the housing. The new OLED can also be mounted in this way, but it is then quite far back and visually there is a tunnel effect from the outside. It makes more sense to screw the display onto the other side of the retaining lugs, because then the OLED display lies directly against the windscreen. For this installation, however, the entire housing of the Yamaha TG33 must be dismantled.
