Between 1994 and 2004, E-mu released a number of different E-mu samplers, all of which were delivered in the same housing of the original E-mu-IV sampler. This obviously saved a lot of money in the development of own cases for the different, but still quite similar models, and also made it easier to operate the different devices, as their operating concept always remained the same. Thus, even today, the hand movements once learned can be applied to the many models of the E-mu samplers, which have remained the same across all models.
Even then, the manufacturer E-mu realised that the displays of some of the devices were clearly too dark and therefore difficult to read. E-mu replaced them with much brighter displays, which led to a much better playing experience.
But even these LCD displays eventually give in, and fade or decrease in brightness until they become completely unreadable.
Displays, jacks and buttons as spare parts for E-mu samplers
In our well-stocked warehouse we offer new LCD displays with LED backlighting incl. cable set for Emu-E4-XT samplers as spare parts.
We deliver the new display ready to plug in. Any necessary adjustments to the technical features of the E-Mu sampler are made by us on the replacement display, so that you can carry out a "plug and play" installation.
The advantage: the new display is installed in exactly the same way as the old display was removed.
But it is not only the displays that are getting old, this is also the fate of the numerous buttons on the user interface of the E-mu-e6400.
We therefore recommend that if you have opened your unit anyway, you replace the buttons at the same time. If there is a battery, as in the E-mu Darwin, you should also replace it.
The jack sockets can also have loose contacts after the many years that your E-mu sampler has been in use.
Repair in our workshop
If you do not feel confident repairing your E-mu-e6400 sampler yourself, or if you prefer to let an expert work on the old electronics, we will be happy to repair your E-mu sampler. In our well-equipped workshop we have all the necessary special tools and measuring instruments to have a repair carried out properly and professionally by our specialists.
We only use original spare parts from the equipment manufacturers, quality spare parts from well-known suppliers or, if these are no longer available, developments from our own development department.
