A potentiometer with metal axis.Appearance (technical characterisation):We offer here a brand new potentiometer as a replacement for the potentiometer used in Sequential Circuits synthesizers.Resistance: 10 KOhmChanges to the original Pot:+ Metal axle instead of plastic axle.o 8mm thread Original potentiometer has inch thread with 9.5mm- Soldering pins are 2 mm wide. The original is 1.5 mm. The holes in the board are 2,08 mm wide. Maybe holes have to be drilled with a bit.Usefull hint:Delivery includes Nut and Washer.Since this is a two-sided board, please note, when soldering the new potentiometer must be soldered on both sides.The potentiometer is soldered on the circuit board. Sequential Circuits Prophet 5

Founded by Dave Smith company Sequential Circuits brought in 1978 the analog synthesizer Prophet 5 on the market. Today, in 2018 an absolute classic among the analogue. Of course, this is reflected in the price, which is rising and rising at the moment. Probably the price also rises because few copies come into the trade. Most of the 8,000 synths produced have probably found a home.

If we look at the Prophet 5 from the point of view of the technician then it is striking that the potentiometers were equipped with a plastic axle. This is a weak point after more than 30 years of operation. Old plastics that have become porous or no longer have the elasticity
as in the first years. It often happens that break these axes. So far this was a big problem as there was no substitute. We can now proudly offer a replacement potentiometer that eliminates this great weakness of the original potentiometers. Since 2018 we have a replacement rotary potentiometer for the synth on offer. We purchase this potentiometer from a recognized manufacturer. The big advantage is besides the high quality the robust metal axle. Of course, the original pot caps can continue to be used.
