AKAI-MPC 2500

The first unit in the MPC series to incorporate the "Chop-Shop" and "Grid-Edit" functions into the MPC's official firmware.
The unit, which has been available since 2005, can also be operated with an alternative software called "JJ OS", which extends the range of functions of the MPC 2500, the MPC2500LE, and the MPC2500SE.
There was a special edition of this unit with a CD burner and a blue display. However, the distribution of this version has already been discontinued, which is why this special edition of the MPC2500 has become a rarity.

As with all older MPC2500s, the function keys can malfunction. This is due to the fact that the buttons are only designed for a life cycle of about 5000-10000 operations. Over time, these buttons show the behaviour known as "bouncing": The function is not triggered, or even triggered several times, even though the push-button has only been pressed once.

Repair

The buttons, the knobs, the sliders and the display of the MPC 2500 can of course be replaced if they fail after a few years. The repair or replacement of the defective components can be carried out in our specialist workshop at a reasonable price by appointment.
