Die Tastaturabdeckung wird leicht angehoben und rollt dann sehr leicht in das innere des Pianos und gibt die Tastatur frei.Die Tastaturabdeckung ist ein Deckel der aus dem gleichen Material gefertigt ist wie der Korpus des Pianos. In der Regel ist das Spanplatte oder MDF-Platte. An der Vorderseite ist wahlweise eine Aluminiumschiene oder ein Holzsteg befestigt durch den der Deckel im geschlossenen Zustand auf dem Korpus des Pianos aufliegt. An der Rückseite ist eine durchgehende Aluminiumstange montiert. An jedem Ende dieser Stange ist ein Zahnrad aus Kunststoff befestigt. Diese Zahnräder bewegen sich auf Zahnstangen die im innern des Pianos am Korpus befestigt sind.
