Once the LCD display and a separate component, the backlight. The backlight is no longer available from Yamaha as a spare part. In the LCD display we offer here, the backlight is integrated. Originally two components become one component.We now have many years of experience with this type of LCD display. These displays are durable and robust. Notes on installation the Display in Yamaha Motif 6,7 or 8 :To replace the display, the Yamaha Motif is opened from the back. So the rear body of the case has to be removed. Afterwards the Powersupply, the DM board and a sheet metal frame must be unscrewed. Everything is scraped and only a Phillips screwdriver, preferably PH2 is needed. Now the old display can be removed. Before installing the new display, three plastic lugs must be removed in the display frame. These can be broken off with pliers, or cut off with a knife. Please do not forget to clean the washer in the housing.No soldering required.All you need is a screwdriver, flat nose pliers and side cutters.

Appearance (technical characterisation):The casing measures 12 x 11 mm, the total length without pins is 22,5 mm. In this total length the casing is 7,5 mm long. On this casing is the thread with 5 mm length connected and out of the thread the axis rises with 10 mm length. The axis has a diameter of 6 mm and is flattened on a length of 12 mm. It is made of black plastic. Its head has a slot and ends in corner radius. The thread, which surrounds the axis, has the screw measure M9 x 0,75 mm.The four solder contact pins are 0,8 mm wide (one of them) and they are arranged in a raster in a distance of 2,5 mm. The bented pins, which are sticking out to the front, are necessary for the electrical function, in which the fourth pin has no electrical function.In the back range of the casing the metallic edge-socket connector is mounted. The connector will be fixed at the printed circuit board by pressing in the snap in pin.Between the two snap in holdings the distance is 13 mm. The holders latch in the board and fix the potentiometer mechanically.Useful hint:The potentiometer is soldered on the circuit board. You should have mechanical skills and experience in soldering to replace it.

Everything is screwed. No soldering required.Mechanical hints for the replacement of the OLED display in the Yamaha DX5:The mechanical effort required to remove the display from the instrument is relatively simple in this case. The cover of the synthesizer can be lifted up after loosening a few screws. Now the circuit board on which the display is mounted must be unscrewed. The display itself is screwed on and the cable is plugged in.Snipping off the metal tab:The OLED display is inserted into metal brackets in the Yamaha DX5. A small metal tab needs to be snipped off here. This can be done using a pair of side cutters.Recommendation:Disconnect the circuitry that generated the backlight voltage for the old display. Simply cut off two components using small side cutters.Instructions are included with the display.Note on OLED technology:OLED - organic light-emitting diode. The advantage of OLED technology is that each pixel is illuminated. This makes the OLED display easy to read from all sides, even from extreme viewing angles. Replacement keys, weighted for Fatar TP/8+ KeyboardFatar TP/8+ keyboard is a touch sensitive keyboard with weighted keys.Keys are mounted on a support frame with core of steel sheet. At these core all attachments were made of plastic in an injected machine.contact detection is done via 12 pin contact rubber strip with two graphite points. The weighted keys have a length of 19,5 cm and a width of 2.24 cm. The thickness of the keys is 1,2 cm. Key guidance and upper stop point are implemented in this keyboard through an eye at the key bottom. The contactor, which presses the contact rubber strip is  worked out by an increase of 10,5 mm. The distance from the front side of the key is 13 cm. At the end of the key is a semi-circular passage aperture into which a spring is hooked. The keys are in color cream white.
