Rotary Potentiometer suitable forYamaha N1 Electrical properties:The nominal resistance has 10 Kilo-Ohm, the electric resistance gradient runs linear.Appearance (technical characterisation):The casing measures 9.5 x 11 mm, the total length without pins is 29 mm. In this total length the casing is 16 mm long. On this casing is the thread with 5 mm length connected and out of the thread the axis rises with 10 mm length. The axis has a diameter of 6 mm and is flattened on a length of 7 mm. It is made of brass. Its head has ends in corner radius. The thread, which surrounds the axis, has the screw measure M7 x 0,75 mm.The nine solder contact pins are 0,8 mm wide (one of them) and they are arranged in a raster in a distance of 2,5 mm. The pins, which are sticking out  are necessary for the electrical function. Useful hint:The potentiometer is soldered on the circuit board. You should have mechanical skills and experience in soldering to replace it.

Everything is scraped and only a Phillips screwdriver, preferably PH2 is needed. Now the old display can be removed. Before installing the new display, three plastic lugs must be removed in the display frame. These can be broken off with pliers, or cut off with a knife. Please do not forget to clean the washer in the housing.No soldering required.All you need is a screwdriver, flat nose pliers and side cutters.

No soldering required.Mechanical hints for the replacement of the OLED display in the Yamaha DX5:The mechanical effort required to remove the display from the instrument is relatively simple in this case. The cover of the synthesizer can be lifted up after loosening a few screws. Now the circuit board on which the display is mounted must be unscrewed. The display itself is screwed on and the cable is plugged in.Snipping off the metal tab:The OLED display is inserted into metal brackets in the Yamaha DX5. A small metal tab needs to be snipped off here. This can be done using a pair of side cutters.Recommendation:Disconnect the circuitry that generated the backlight voltage for the old display.
