Mechanical Description of Roland MC505 Encoder Board:
Roland used a Panasonic encoder with the designation EVQ-VEM-F01-24B in the above instruments. The production of this encoder at Panasonic was stopped many years ago. We have developed an adapter board on which a today's common encoder is soldered. This adapter board is soldered directly onto the Roland electronics.
The switching feel is a bit harder with this new encoder than with the original.
The new encoder has a metal housing and a plastic axle.
Practical advice for Mounting MC303 Encoder :
The encoder is permanently soldered onto a circuit board. Manual skills and experience in soldering are required for replacement.
