The wear parts of the electronics are electrolytic capacitors. Capacitors are aging, and you will see the effect at first when it comes to greater damage because of overvoltage.

With an age of more than 30 years, the Technics PX-1 is in any case one of the instruments in which an replacement of all electrolytic capacitors is strongly advised.
