The key felt on many digital pianos, keyboards and synthesisers has started to show its age. As a result, the keyboard can become very noisy when played.The keyboard is rattling.
This felt is relatively soft. Because of this softness, the felt compresses easily, meaning that its effective thickness under load is considerably less than the stated 3.5 mm. This softness provides very good cushioning.
Fitting a new felt pad will solve this problem. A simple but effective solution.
