This phonejack is a stereo jack socket with 9 solder legs. In addition to the signal contacts for stereo signal transmission, this jack has 2 switching contacts that are designed as change switch. These jack sockets are basically downwards compatible. For example, this 9-pin socket can also be used for the 7-pin version. To do this, it is sufficient to cut the two extra soldering legs.
