we offer here a Customized OS version for the Roland MKS-50. This OS version is required if a new OLED display is to be installed in the MKS-50.
Mounting instructions for the EPROM in the Roland MKS-50:
Soldering may be required if the EPROM in the Roland MKS-50 is not socketed.
In very many cases EPORMs are plugged in on a socket from the factory. But it can happen that the EPROM is soldered directly. In this case the EPROM would have to be desoldered. In this case it is advisable to retrofit the IC socket.
Practical notes:
IC's/Eproms are sensitive to static charge!
Recycling of E-Proms:
The best recycling is always the reuse in the original form. We will be happy if you send us back your old eprom. We will then reuse it with the updated OS version.
